RHA Dermal Fillers and Dynamic Wrinkles

There are two kinds of wrinkles: static and dynamic. The difference between them is that static wrinkles are always visible, while dynamic wrinkles can only be seen when a facial expression is being made. If you don’t like certain wrinkles that you see when you smile or frown, it’s a good idea to treat them before them become static. The RHA (Resilient Hyaluronic Acid) Filler Collection has been created especially for dynamic facial wrinkles.

Your Consultation and Treatment for Dermal Fillers

Your treatment will first begin with a complimentary consultation with Dr. Lamoureux. During this first meeting, she will educate you on the treatment and what you can expect. She will spend time with you, carefully assessing your face and listening to your cosmetic concerns. She will then determine your treatment plan.

To make sure you’re as comfortable as possible, we recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before your appointment time. Photography will be taken at each visit to track your progress. Injections will be administered using a gentle touch, and afterward you will be provided with detailed post-care instructions and tips to help ensure optimal recovery and results.

You will have a two-week follow-up appointment where additional photos will be taken and your results will be discussed. We will also go over your next steps in order to maintain your new, refreshed look.

Treatment Details for Dermal Fillers

As with any cosmetic injectable treatment, your skin will be cleansed and numbed with a topical anesthetic if needed. Treatment time takes 20-30 minutes. Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Lamoureux has an artistic eye when treating a patient with dermal fillers.

She has the ability to scan each unique face and know just where to inject to create a more youthful and balanced appearance, whether their face is at rest or in motion. She never over-treats her patients, and therefore they never look like they’ve “had work done”.

Dr. Lamoureux partners with every patient on their cosmetic journey and goes to great lengths to discuss what is needed for getting the results they want.

What Other Treatments Go With Dermal Fillers?

In conjunction with dermal fillers in Shrewsbury, Dr. Lamoureux often performs a neuromodulator injection such as Xeomin® or Botox®. Energy-based procedures are also good to pair with dermal fillers; however, Dr. Lamoureux will typically wait at least two weeks after dermal fillers to perform these procedures in the same area that the filler was placed. Other procedures that enhance the structure the skin include radiofrequency microneedling, laser resurfacing, or an intense pulsed light (IPL) photofacial with our Cynosure® Palomar Icon™, non-invasive body contouring with our Cynosure WarmSculpting by SculpSure®, or laser hair removal with our Lumenis® LightSheer laser.
