How LED Light Therapy Works

LED light therapy heals your skin from within. It emits two different types of light—red and blue—to deliver energy into the skin and promote the healing process.

The light energy from LightStim improves blood flow throughout the body, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to every tissue within the body. There is absolutely no pain, as this type of light doesn’t use any heat.

LED Light Therapy for Acne

If you’re ready to reduce acne and have skin that’s clear, calm, and healthy, LED light therapy uses a two-pronged approach to target this common skin condition. Blue LED light comes in superficially to target oil glands and the bacteria that cause acne, making it destroy itself. The blue LED light also calms any active breakouts. The red LED light penetrates more deeply, working on reducing the inflammation of acne.

LED Light Therapy for Wrinkles

Red LED light is a collagen stimulator, which results in skin that is firmer, plumper, smoother, and more youthful-looking. The red LED light is absorbed by the skin, which in turn triggers collagen proteins. In addition, red LED light provides a healthy glow because it reduces inflammation and improves circulation.

LED Light Therapy Treatments

No anesthesia is needed with LED light therapy. You will be made comfortable, and we will give you protective eyewear. A serum may be applied to your skin to help receive the LED light. We may use an LED table, light panels, or an LED handheld device. Each of these are very comfortable, and even relaxing. Treatments take approximately 20 minutes. About 10 LED light therapy sessions is typical to see great results.

Downtime and Results

Because LightStim LED light therapy is non-invasive and doesn’t even use heat energy, there is no downtime associated with the treatment.

Many patients see results in about eight weeks; however, maintenance sessions will be needed as the skin cells turn over and your results begin to fade.
